Position Description
Reporting directly to the Senior Volunteer Manager, this pivotal role puts you at the forefront of JA's
mission, orchestrating the dynamic flow of volunteer engagement that fuels our impact! Your focus
on volunteer recruitment, placement, training, retention and communication bolsters support for JA’s
students and programs.
The Manager of Volunteer Engagement lives and breathes JA’s mission and has a remarkable ability
to forge and nurture meaningful relationships, particularly with our corporate partners and
community volunteers. The ideal candidate is looking for an exciting journey where every connection
you make, every volunteer you inspire, contributes to a brighter future for our youth.
The Role
Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual and corporate volunteer groups as
assigned by the supervisor
Recruit, train, and support volunteers to work with JA students
Communicate regularly with corporate volunteer partners to foster mutually beneficial
partnerships
Collaborate with the JA-Rocky Mountain Development team to strengthen volunteer
relationships and support funding efforts
Promote JA programs and volunteer opportunities through tours, presentations,
webinars, and community outreach
Ensure adequate volunteer coverage for successful program implementation
Collaborate and problem-solve with the Programs and Development teams
Assist with special projects and events as assigned by the Senior Volunteer Manager
Travel throughout the Denver Metro area to support volunteers at JA events
Provide exceptional customer service to volunteers and corporate coordinators
Take initiative in planning, organizing, and implementing goals aligned with JA’s
mission and vision
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to engage current and prospective
stakeholders
Strong sales and communication skills (verbal and written) to recruit and engage new
volunteers in JA programming
Outstanding verbal communication skills to inspire teachers and volunteers during in-person
and virtual trainings, as well as small and large group presentations
Proven ability to train, motivate, and coach others, including supporting volunteers through
challenging situations
Passion and enthusiasm for working with and engaging K–12 students
Demonstrated commitment to JA’s mission through volunteerism and/or relevant work
experience
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage details across projects, programs, and
events; includes multitasking and effective time management
Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in group settings
Goal-oriented with the ability to think on your feet and adapt as needed
Self-motivated and self-directed, with a proactive approach to responsibilities
Experience in education, program management, business sales, or a related field preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including intermediate skills in Excel
Ability to pass a required background check

Compensation and Benefits:
This is an exempt position with an annual salary range of $56,000 - $62,500
