Job DescriptionJob Description

The Job Developer is responsible for developing internship sites and cultivating contacts in high growth sectors. The ideal candidate will recruit students for employment opportunities, attend and arrange industry networking events and market the program to external agencies.

Requirements:

  • Establish and maintain employer relationships.
  • Secure internship sites at local non-profits and for-profit organizations.
  • Coordinate hiring events for IPS participants.
  • Support a population of unemployed participants by providing job coaching.
  • Prepare participants to be job ready by creating or revising their resumes and conducting mock interviews.
  • Develop and facilitate on-site and virtual work readiness workshops on topics such as resume writing and interviewing.
  • Perform career counseling to participants by developing a long-term career plan and helping them make appropriate career decisions.
  • Utilize a data management system to track participant outcomes and related milestones.
  • Attend and arrange industry networking events to market the program to external agencies.
  • Coordinate with recruiters from organizations in order to meet their staffing needs with qualified IPS participants.
  • Partner with case managers to help achieve participant outcomes.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years’ related work experience in recruitment, community relations, business development, workforce development or similar.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NYC communities and community-based organizations.
  • Knowledge of NYC’s labor market information.
  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills related to planning, organization, problem-solving and assessment.
  • Must be comfortable working with low-income population.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, and other standard applications. Knowledge of social media.
  • Prior experience working with SNAP recipients preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred

This is a Full-Time and On-Site Position

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
